Ranakpur is a place where nature and pilgrimage meet. It is known for world famous Jain temple built centuries back, a marvel of sculpture & architecture . It is situated at a distance of 90 km from Udaipur on way to Jodhpur. Surrounded by the dense woods of Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary and Aravali hills make it one of the favorite tourist spots. The temple is dedicated to the first Teerthankar Lord Adinath .It has 1444 pillars and 88 idols elaborately carved in marble.
Other near by places of tourist interest are:
- A Teerthankar nature trail developed by forest department in the vicinity of temple dedicated to various kevli trees.
- Eco trekking along the nature trails in the sanctuary.
- Surya Narayan temple having polygonal walls, impressive carvings of warriors , horses and chariots.
- Ranakpur lake – An excellent birding site.
Boarding and lodging facilities are made available in the temple premises itself by the temple board.
