The Bassi wildlife sanctuary is containing diversity and interspersion of habitats, which includes areas of Dhok and Khair stands, wet lands and fine groves of mixed wood lands. The sanctuary comprises of historical and religious places such as Jharia Mahadeo, Tukara Mata, Modia Mahadev with deeply attached emotions of people. The Bassi Sanctuary provides an ideal site for eco-tourism. There are abundant Ideal places for nature lovers like Meghpura, Tukara mata temple, Bassi, and Orai dam. The Jarana talab located on the south-west corner is also place of tourist attraction.

In Bassi Sanctuary the panther is the highest predator. Other animals found there includes Hyena, Wolf, Jungle Cat, Cheetal, Chinkara, Neelgai, Wildboar, Painted Patridge, Peafowl, Doves, Paradise Fly Catcher, Green Pigeons, Tree Pics, Babblers etc. The main tree species are- Dhok, Khair, Ber, Kakon, Khirni, Tendu Gurjan, Karaya, Jhinjha, Salar, Kalam, Dhaora, Bael, Aonla.
